IM70.3 : registration. Registration was quick coz I came at lunch hour, time tak ramai orang. Despite the swift registration process, the aunty- aunty kat meja tuh don't know really know what they're dealing with doing. They were not even sure team relay registration fee is how much. And girl at bike check in tanya why untuk relay don't have age-group.. hum.... I don't blame the girl. She's just a volunteer who sincerely came to help her mum who is also helping out at bike check in.

1st to check-in when the organizers are still busy tagging the racks. How's dat for a world standard race? That's Yellow Submarin, my beloved bike !! Comel kan ?! Like me laaa.. hahahaha.... I manage to ask the ane, aunty and also IM Soffian to help ensure dat my bike is at #300.

my race number.. bayar MAHAL.. 300 x 2 (rm600).. but quality.....kain ! gosh... very dissapointing !!!!!!!!!!
Kain = Cloth !! Even Pacesetters can afford more quality material race numbers !!! and we pay 1/6 - 1/8th or less of the 70.3 fee to enjoy a quality race . Pacesetters, Quick Release for Powerman as well XTerra do not use KAIN for race numbers ! Larian Bomba boleh lah !

Okay, enough of the rantings. If I don”t put it here, and simpan in my laptop je, basi pon you all tak tau. We triathletes pay because we want to race not just a race but an enjoyable AND quality race, both aspects which are vital for the organizers to consider.Have they ever ? I’ve always saluted Pacesetters for their quality and improvement. They’ve managed to mature and grow.. And they didn’t need politicians to jump in and run the show themselves. Malaysians and Klang Valley runners love their races and events because they’re good. 4000-5000 runners or more per event is not uncommon to them anymore. p.s. : I’m proud to say here I am a Pacesetters member ! Registered in 2005 baby !!

For my maiden IM Langkawi this year, during its press conference in Nestle house, around a month before the race, not just myself heard this with my 2 ears, but also everyone who attended the press conference ; the media, athletes, organizers etc. Sri Ram openly said ‘I am a businessman’. A 4 worded sentence which means a lot especially when talking about the future of Ironman triathlon in Malaysia. Mark my words.
Every athlete and organizer have to know a bit of everything. If you know only 1 thing, and that 1 thing is how to generate $$, and how to look sleek, clean, handsome and perfect teeth … payah ler..we can put majulah sukan untuk negara in my wardrobe and let cobwebs appear in no time.
Tomorrow I’m just gonna race. Enjoy it, and support my other friends who will be doing the race. God Bless and all the best to everyone taking part. Can’t wait to write my race report !! LOL !!!
