Radiohead – 15 Step (Scotch Mist Version)

An overnight fling with Radiohead after checking out some of the soundtrack from Twilight. I’ve heard some songs by Radiohead. Creep is 1 of my favourite ! This song (15 Step) was included in the band’s 2007 ‘In Rainbow’ digitial release, and was performed at the 2009 Grammy’s (this I just found out!). Awesome eh ? Anyways, do check out this music vid if you haven’t watched it

Some Radiohead facts :

Radiohead are an English alternative rock band from Abingdon, Oxfordshire, formed in 1985 (I was only 3 !! :p).

The band consists of Thom Yorke (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, piano, beats), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, keyboard, other instruments), Ed O’Brien (guitar, backing vocals), Colin Greenwood (bass guitar, synthesizers) and Phil Selway (drums, percussion).

Among Radiohead members’ earliest influences were Queen, Scott Walker, and Elvis Costello; post-punk acts such as Joy Division and Magazine; and significantly 1980s alternative rock bands such as R.E.M., Pixies, The Smiths and Sonic Youth

I am what I am

A few friends have been asking me why I do/did Ironman. This is a common question, which mostly are answered  by  some Ironman finishers with common answer due to common reasons.. I was chatting with a friend today. And suddenly were talking about people’s value (not people value), how do we categorize ourselves etc. He asked me how I categorize myself..good, bad? naughty?angel ? Here was my answer ..

me : im julie

me : i am myself. i have my princips. i dont want to be too serious and i want to have some fun too but not too much until i forget myself.

me : like Ironman,  thats what I am

friend :  waaaahhhhh…..

me:  going for Ironman is like preparing for a war, need to plan, ’strategize’ and arm myself

friend : true

me:  expect things but also prepare for the unexpected,

me : know my friends and know my enemies

friend : fuhyooo….

me:  and know that will and faith and strength will carry me through

me : ahhaha did i just say that ? ..Ironman is personal

friend : nope.. u typed that..good lah if like that..

me:  only myself can claim it. because i did it on my own . not any1 else (for my own and not for anyone else)

Two thumbs up to ALL you finishers out there no matter what distance you covered today, and no matter how long it took you before crossing the finish line opposite the Bangunan Sultan Abdul Samad. I had a bomb+blast+kaboom of a fun time, pacing friends , saying hi to friends along the course and cheering them up.

I’ve lots of photos to share with you all, and of course, some insight stories of the ‘run’, but for now, my tummy already grumbling..so , gonna grab me some lunch and continue to write later on.aight?!

Cheers and Congrats again to all you finishers. Now can give yourself a pat on the shoulder ,yes ?!

Michael Jackson. One of the greatest artist ever. I’ve been a fan since I was a kid. Break dancin’ like mad at my cousin’s birthday party , and continue to appreciate his music, even until now. After he passed the peak of his success, people and the media were more interested in the man rather than his music. The court allegation, having to sell Neverland, dangling his baby of the balcony. No matter what you say or think, there can and will, only 1, and only 1 Michael Jackson. You will be greatly missed by all you fans. I’m proud to say I am one of them.

Thanks to everyone who’s been dropping by, following and reading this humble blog of mine since the past 2 years.

i first published this blog in June 06 but it wasn’t untill April 07 I became more active blogging, after I did my first sprint tri at the A Famosa International Triathlon.

I actually began blogging in 2004 , using blogspot. The old blog still exist tho I don’t update it anymore. Will most probably use it for something else, when I have the time. if you wanna take a look at it, sure, no problem. Just log on to http://missjewelz.blogspot.com. I was still studying medicine back then. So don’t be surprised to find terms and posts on renal physiology and professors in there. LOL!

As you might notice, I do not blog all the time. I don’t write in my daily updates as frequent as other bloggers. Time is gold. As precious as it is, I do have my priorities of when and what to write. When I write, I try to imagine myself as a reader myself. See if I could comprehend what I write.

And if you’ve been following missjewelz.wordpress.com my guess is that you sort of know the different styles of writing that I use.

And you know I’ve lotsa pictures to share !

This is another poem which was dedicated to me by my friend Eddie. Its called ‘Giving’.

You give but little
when you give
of your possessions.
It is when you give of yourself
that you truly give.
For what are your possessions
but things you keep and guard
for fear you may need them tomorrow?

And tomorrow,
what shall tomorrow bring
to the overprudent dog
burying bones in the trackless sand
as he follows the pilgrims
to the holy city?
And what is fear of need
but need itself?
Is not dread of thirst
when your well is full,
the thirst that is unquenchable?
There are those
who give little
of the much
which they have–
and they give it for
recognition
and their hidden desire
